The story

Origins and historical context

Official regional sources date it to the sixteenth century.

Architecture and evidence

Multiple brick arches carry the long roadway across the river channel. The bridge remained useful into the twentieth century and has undergone repair and landscaping.

Change, conservation and interpretation

Its value lies in infrastructure as heritage: it connects political history with movement, water management and the everyday geography of the oasis.
