The story
An archaeological reference site
Official tourism material identifies Bibionamozor as a major archaeological monument near Chust. Excavations and scholarship around the site helped define the Bronze and Early Iron Age cultural sequence known as Chust culture.
Settlement and farming landscape
Finds indicate settled communities, agriculture and craft activity in the eastern Fergana Valley. The site should be described through archaeological evidence, not as a single legendary city.
Sacred spring tradition
The Bibi Ona spring gives the place continuing devotional meaning. Sacred narratives and archaeological chronology coexist, but one does not prove the other.
Different from craft heritage
This is not a duplicate of the Chust craft page: one concerns ancient settlement archaeology and sacred landscape, the other living knife and textile traditions in the modern town.
Why it matters
It is the strongest independent archaeological counterpart to Chust’s living craft heritage.
