The story
Origins and historical context
Hazrati Imam, also called Hast Imam, grew around the burial place of the tenth-century scholar Abu Bakr Kaffal Shashi. The ensemble records several periods rather than one campaign.
Architecture, collections or landscape
The surviving complex includes the Kaffal Shashi Mausoleum, Barak Khan Madrasa, Muyi Muborak Madrasa and later religious buildings. Individual monuments remain searchable, while the practical visit is one walkable complex.
How to experience it
Major modern landscaping changed the setting. The ensemble remains an active religious centre, so worship, teaching and visitor access overlap.
Why it matters
Visit Hazrati Imam Complex to understand a distinct layer of Tashkent and its region.
